R&D Data Engineer

    We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced R&D Data Engineer to join our R&D team here at Williams Racing. In this position you will be responsible for the post processing and reporting of our R&D tests. This includes developing apps, maintaining the R&D database, whilst continually developing our data pipeline.

    As an R&D Data Engineer your key responsibilities will be:

    • Working with Engineering to identify post processing requirements.
    • Develop Matlab Apps to post process this information for bespoke tests carried out in R&D.
    • Maintain high standards of data quality to enable the data capture of each test carried out in R&D.
    • Continuous development of the R&D data pipeline.
    • Maintain the current apps and modify as required to meet future test requirements.
    • Maintain app version control on all post processing tools.
    • Develop & maintain the R&D database.
    • Work with DPT to develop the architecture of the database.
    • Maintain and develop the Data ingestion Tool (DIT).
    • Maintain and update the data visualisation dashboard.
    • Collaborate with test engineers to develop data post processing requirements.
    • Working together with the controls engineer & electronics engineer on future rig capability & upgrades in terms of post processing and generating data.

    We are looking for a R&D Data Engineer with the following skills:

    • An understating of physical testing of components and what is involved.
    • Be able to take full ownership of new and existing projects and department tasks.
    • Highly organised and comfortable with the high pressure fast-paced environment.
    • Proficient user of Matlab.
    • A good understanding of Python.
    • Have a good grasp of SQL programming language.
    • Be competent in Data Modelling.
    • Be comfortable with GIT Source control.
    • Have an understanding, of cloud object storage.
