Job Title: Operations Planning Industrial Placement Reports To: Operations Planning & Scheduling Manager Department: Inventory & Logistics About the Department: The Operations Planning team plays the crucial role of turning designs into reality. We own the planning & scheduling of components from design demand to delivery. Our team of highly motivated super organised planners play a crucial role in delivering performance to the car, often juggling multiple conflicting priorities at the same time. Role Overview: As an Operations Planning Industrial Placement, you’ll play a critical role in planning and driving workflow through Production, Assembly, and Test, to bring performance to the track as efficiently as possible. In this role you will have the opportunity to work at the pinnacle of Motorsport for one of the most Iconic teams in Formula 1. You will get hands on experience of what it takes to operate at the highest level. As part of the Operations planning team, you will play an active role in delivering performance to our race cars. During your time you will gain experience in every aspect of Formula one planning and manufacturing, an experience very few roles can offer. Your Responsibilities: As an Operations Planning Industrial Placement at Williams, you will: • Assist the Operation Planners to ensure parts progress through production in a timely manner • Adjust timing plans to communicate key milestones to different departments and stakeholders around the business. • Chase closure of NC's, correction of Works Orders, completion of BOM picks or any other barriers of delivery to ensure parts keep moving. • Support the “last mile” delivery of key assemblies to freight by clearing typical bottle-neck tasks. • Support fast turn-around of repair or service items between races Preferred Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate will possess a combination of the following: • Proficient in Excel and a basic understanding of ERP & MRP systems & the principles of lean manufacturing would be of an advantage • Strong communication skills • Able to work under pressure to tight deadlines. • Hyper organised and the ability to work in both a team environment and independently. • Strong background in engineering • Familiar with manufacturing processes • Ability to understand engineering drawings • Firm interest in Motorsport • Proactive & Organised • Excellent communication skills
