Motorsport Technician Apprenticeship

AB Motorsport are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and hands on apprentice. This role would be suitable for someone who is currently studying or has completed their studies with the National College for Motorsport or similar. If you are at the beginning of your motorsport journey we can also assist with facilitating a course which would be the Engineering Operative Standard Motorsports Apprenticeship Level 2, delivered by the Bedford College Group. This role can be full or part time with a minimum of three days per week in the workshop. This role would suit someone who has a passion for motorsport, cars or engineering.

Responsibilities:

  • To learn and develop the skills required in relation to the motorsport trade. This includes race car building, fabrication, servicing, repairs, racing setup, trackside racing support and more
  • To attend team motorsport events (dates to be agreed at the beginning of each year)
  • To assist with rigging and de-rigging at motorsport events
  • To actively engage in learning, completing apprenticeship coursework to a high standard and in a timely manner.
  • To learn and develop communication and interpersonal skills including teamwork and resilience
  • To maintain a very high standard of working

Requirements:

  • Passion for cars and/or motorsport
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow directions and work well in a team environment
  • Physical stamina and ability to perform heavy lifting
  • Basic knowledge of tools and equipment used in the trade is a plus

Note: This position is an apprenticeship, which means you will be learning on the job under the guidance of experienced professionals. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop valuable skills in the motorsport industry.
