The Marketing Operations Manager - Esports will deliver industry-leading marketing support to enable performance at the highest level, while ensuring the company’s values and behaviours are applied consistently across all team activity. Reporting to the Director of Esports, this role will play an integral part in developing the future of the esports business to enhances the Williams brand and reputation in gaming.

This role will lead day-to-day marketing operations across the full scope of the team’s activity, while also being the key point of contact and collaboration for each of the marketing functions within the wider Williams team. With a particular focus on the business side, including partnerships, commercial, merchandise & licensing, content, social & media, the Marketing Operations Manager - Esports will also provide support and guidance in events, logistics and business administration.

May require flexible and unsociable working hours and some travel, depending on the event calendar and team requirements.

As a Marketing Operations Manager – Esports you will be responsible for:

  • Collaborate with the broad Williams Marketing team to manage delivery of all Esports and gaming-related marketing activity, including briefing and collaborating with the Content, Communications, Social, Fan Engagement, Events and Creative teams, as well as managing the requirements of Esports players and other personnel.

  • Manage the marketing aspects of relations with team partners, including proactive planning and delivery of collaborative campaigns, analytics and reporting, through collaboration with the Partnerships team and wider Esports team.

  • Liaise with the Merchandise & Licensing team to leverage opportunities for gaming and Esports products and retail, as well as overseeing production of Esports teamwear.

  • Manage and supervise Esports marketing projects from beginning to end, ensuring alignment and effective cross-team collaboration

  • Instil a professional, supportive and collaborative culture into team operations, building and protecting an environment aligned on behaviours and practices, driven by the overall Williams brand and values.

  • Ensure that correct processes, policies and behaviours are communicated and implemented throughout all team functions and related personnel.

  • Liaise with third party agencies and suppliers, building strong working relationships and managing output.

  • Attend events as required to represent the team, the brand, and manage on-site delivery of events and campaigns.

  • Act as a brand champion, ensuring the Williams brand is represented correctly and consistently across all outputs.

The ideal Marketing Operations Manager – Esports will have: 

  • Proven experience working in Marketing in elite sport and/or gaming, ideally with a broad reach across partnerships, events and content.

  • Strong balance of creative flair, eye for detail and project organisational skills.

  • An enthusiastic self-starter, with an ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • A problem solver, able to use initiative to ensure deadlines are met on time to a consistently high standard.

  • Self-sufficient, able to independently take responsibility for completing tasks and objectives.
