The Job
This person will assist the Division Director in the set-up, management, and tear down of NHRA.TV equipment, live timing equipment, and the loading and unloading of equipment from the division trailer and storage facilities at races within the Northeast Division. The Division has racetracks located in Maryland, New Brunswick, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Pennsylvania, Quebec, and Virginia. This entails work which can include long hours (12+) outside in extreme weather, and in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Unload equipment from trailer and load into the tower.
  • Setup of equipment including Live Timing Computer, mixer board, cameras both fixed and wireless units, microphones, and associate sound equipment.
  • Works with racetrack personnel to verify proper connections into Compulink computer and sound board.
  • Test equipment with NHRA IT department prior to event start and verify operation of all devices.
  • Manage equipment during events which includes the changing and charging of battery equipment, control of volumes and video feeds, monitoring of all systems to ensure smooth operation and make adjustments as needed.
  • Operates computer to show various camera angles and ensure live timing screen is visible to viewers.
  • Event tear down, packing, and loading of equipment after event.
  • Report any broken, damaged, or malfunctioning equipment to Division Director or Services Coordinator for repair.
  • Remains and acts in professional manor with track staff and racers.
  • Other duties as assigned by Division management staff

LOCATION: Racetracks throughout the Northeast Division
FLSA/SALARY: State minimum wage

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be flexible with meal and rest periods.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, push, pull, run, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable under NHRA insurance policy.
  • Ability to work well within a team and independently.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow directions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • A general knowledge of racing is preferred.
  • Travel is required within the region - Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.
