About the Role:

As our Graduate Software Engineer within the Aerodynamics department, you will contribute to the advancement of software tools, methodologies, and processes. You will optimise the utilisation of data from the race car and other applied science projects. You will stay informed about the latest technologies to ensure the group remains at the forefront of software practices. By collaborating with other software groups across the organisation, you will enhance knowledge sharing. The successful candidate will facilitate the implementation of the latest machine learning models from data scientists.

Within the role you will be responsible for:

  • Innovating to improve the efficiency of existing tools and contribute to new software tools or modules for data analysis.

  • Ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of work items.

  • Maintaining transparent communication regarding completed work items and provide assistance for software contributions from the broader group.

  • Supporting group members involved in race events by ensuring the proper functioning of tools and promptly resolving any issues that arise (which may occur during non-traditional working hours).

To be successful you will:

Essential:

  • Have a degree in Computer Science or similar (for example Maths, Engineering, Physics).

  • Have a good knowledge of .NET or other strongly typed languages is vital.

  • Be dedicated to producing high-quality, maintainable code.

  • Be highly motivated individual able to use your initiative and creativity to resolve development challenges.

  • Possess good communication skills, with the ability to both provide and accept constructive feedback in collaborative code reviews. The successful candidate will actively share their expertise and help improve the skills of fellow engineers contributing to the codebase.

  • Have the ability to work on multiple projects in parallel, delivering them on time and to a high standard.

Desirable:

  • Experience developing desktop applications written in WPF using ReactiveUI.
