Graduate Electric Drive Controls Engineer

What to Expect

We are recruiting for an Graduate Electric Drive Controls Engineer to join our fantastic Powertrain team in Woking. As the Graduate Electric Drive Controls Engineer you will specify, design, engineer & deliver vehicle control systems including Battery management system, DC/DC converter, Chargers, inverter and any other ECUs within the Hybrid and EV Systems. Interactions with Powertrain CAE team, Functional Safety (ISO 26262) and Vehicle Development are also part of the system design role.

What You'll Do

  • Generating control system requirements
  • Supporting control systems delivery to all vehicle projects, to specification, on time and on budget.
  • Working with the Functional Safety experts to deliver ISO 26262 requirements
  • Working with the Powertrain CAE group to develop Model-in-the-Loop systems and support requirement verification.
  • Presenting external and internal project status reviews

What You'll Bring

  • Proficiency in Control Systems Engineering, Simulation modelling in MATLAB/Simulink
  • Embedded systems knowledge
  • Technical knowledge of BMS and power electronics (DCDC, Inverter, HV charger) control desirable
  • HiL (Hardware in the Loop) and Rig systems testing experience desirable.
