Duties / Responsibilities (Including Objectives of the role):
The Engineering Financial Controller is responsible for ensuring the underlying financial processes of the business are fit for purpose and operating correctly. Ensure proper compliance with statutory requirements and internal Geely Group reporting. Manage staff and financial systems and ensure effective working relationships with all other members of the finance community. Drive effective business processes in areas such as budgeting forecasting and monthly reporting.
The engineering currently operates with two main revenue / expense streams
- Engineering consultancy and sub contract – for other car manufacturers
- Product development (2 locations) – R&D on new models, capitalised against projects

The requirements of the role will evolve with the post holder giving the perfect opportunity to settle in to Lotus and learn systems and processes at the start. As the business requirements change through growth opportunities the role will become a lot more challenging and fit with career development potential. A key element of the new ten year plan at Lotus is improved manufacturing reporting and efficiency.
Key deliverables are:
- Challenge and critique spend via electronic requisition; once satisfied check to budget and allocate accounts coding.
- Control and monitor the operational performance of engineering services
The role will form part of the Programme and Engineering finance team that will provide the financial control, reporting and forecasting services for over £2Bn of investment in Group Lotus over the next 5 years. This investment will significantly change the Lotus business and provide a truly exciting growth trajectory for the next ten years and beyond. This role will help support that growth. provide a financial service covering monthly reporting, budgetary control, forecast projections and estimating cost of future development activities.

For this reason they need to actively engage with the business to ensure that targets and issues are addressed and understood.
Day to day deliverables:

Forecasting product investment cost, ensuring that the funding/purchasing requests align to approved budgets

Support control, reporting and forecasting of other business projects as and when required
Qualifications and Experience (Essential & Desirable criteria)

Progressively responsible financial controller experience for a major company.

Intermediate Excel skills

High level of communication skills

Fully Qualified Member of a Professional accountancy body (CIMA/ACA/ACCA)

Other information
Based in a multi-functional team environment, which sites in a wider Engineering function.
Likely to be predominantly Hethel/Warwick based with some travel potentially China.
