General Summary

 

The position reports to the Chief Financial Officer or their designee; is in Banbury, UK. The Financial Controller is responsible for all accounting & financial reporting matters for the Haas F1 Team group entities.

 

General Responsibilities:

 

  • Management of department personnel from recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement through to separation.
  • Develops staff using effective performance reviews and development plans.
  • Promotes teamwork and effective communications to develop working relationships between all personnel and departments.
  • Responsible for establishing standard operating procedures to maintain a functional department.
  • Assumes any responsibilities and duties delegated by the Chief Financial Officer or their designee.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Working Capital Management

 

  • Oversee the US based accounting team who are responsible for the day-to-day processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable and treasury transactions.
  • Responsible for all treasury functions including banking relationships, short term, and long-term cash flow forecasting.
  • Responsible for developing business practices to optimize working capital management.

 

Reporting

 

  • Responsible for the end-to-end monthly financial close process from planning to financial reporting. Working alongside the FP&A team to ensure variances to budgets/forecasts are fully understood and explainable.
  • Responsible for the timely completion of monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.
  • Responsible for all statutory reporting & audits for the Haas F1 Team group entities (US, UK & Italy).
  • Provides GAAP and internal control compliance policies & guidance globally.
  • Superuser for Microsoft D365 system.

 

Tax Compliance

 

  • Responsible for all tax compliance for the Haas F1 Team group entities (US, UK & Italy) including VAT, Corporation Tax, PAYE, Driver Withholding Taxes.
  • Responsible for the annual update of the transfer pricing policy.
  • Responsible for the preparation of R&D tax credit claims.
  • Responsible for the annual group reporting tax submission.

 

Internal Controls

 

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining robust internal controls, accounting policies and procedures for all entities within the Haas F1 Team group.

Other

 

  • Line management of Accounting Manager and Senior Financial Accountant.
  • Responsible for overseeing ERP system upgrades.
  • Other tasks as requested by the Chief Financial Officer.

 

Education and Work Experience

 

  • ACCA/ACA/CTA qualification preferred with eight years of post-qualification work experience. Previous experience at Financial Controller level, with a solid understanding of accounting principles and practical tax experience, including dealing with tax authorities and professional advisors.

 

Specialized Knowledge and Skills

 

  • Experience in a global environment strongly preferred.
  • Strong financial reporting and tax reporting background.
  • Strong internal controls knowledge and technical accounting skills.
  • Strong organizational skills to keep timelines and meets deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • US GAAP knowledge of financial and accounting concepts.
  • Willingness and ability to quickly learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities.  

 

Equipment and Applications

 

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with key financial systems including, Microsoft D365 and Power BI.

 

Work Environment and Physical Demands

 

An ability to work and prioritize within a high pressure, time sensitive environment while retaining a methodical approach is essential. The role may require some occasional domestic & international travel and a willingness to work long and flexible hours including weekends.

This position may require lifting to 50 pounds, repeated bending, squatting and manual dexterity. Fast-paced work environment requiring heavy mental demands. Work environment includes machinery, race cars, 7-post and other rigs, grinding debris, and hazardous fluids. All employees must ensure compliance with the Company Health and Safety Policy, and all relevant other statutory Health and Safety legislation.
