Control Systems Application Engineer

Within the Control Systems Group we have a new vacancy as Control Systems Application Engineer where the successful candidate, arriving with several years of experience in a high-level motorsport environment, will be responsible for setting up, monitoring, optimising, and ensuring the safe operation of the on-car chassis control systems.

 

Control Systems Application Engineer - The Role

Reporting to the Lead Control Systems Application Engineer this varied role will contribute to the development of our on-car and off-car systems and support the operation of car control systems at factory-based dynos, rigs and simulators and also at the track. As part of this position, you will maintain very close familiarity with on-car standard ECU hardware and software , and team software. You will liaise with colleagues across the engineering functions on relevant topics, providing analytical and objective feedback on developments and faults. You will contribute to start performance, including settings optimisation and driver procedural coaching and plan and execute test programmes to validate new functionality and search for performance and reliability improvements.

 

Control Systems Application Engineer –The Person

The successful candidate will be a University Graduate in Engineering or Physics, with an excellent grasp of real time control systems, mechatronics and hydraulic systems and a flair for data analysis. Candidates must demonstrate an in-depth understanding of on-car hydraulic and electrical systems and current F1 transmission technology, an appreciation of failure modes and skill in fault diagnosis.
