Composite Kit Cutter/Stores Trainee

Codem Composites, based in Orton Southgate, Peterborough is a specialist engineering and technology company focused on the manufacture of carbon fibre components and tooling, serving the motorsport, aerospace, and satellite communications industry as well as other commercial and bespoke applications.

We are looking for a Trainee Kit Cutter/Stores person to join our team in supporting the provision of engineering solutions. This is a good opportunity as an entry level position within the composite industry. Codem runs a training scheme for new trainees whose ambitions are to learn more specialist skills in carbon fibre and other composite materials allowing personal growth within the business.

Key operational responsibilities:

  • Managing the booking in of material, capturing specific data and maintaining records to ensure full traceability can be adhered to
  • Cutting material and making sure it is ready to schedule requirements and to the right quality
  • Ensure all relevant paperwork and admin is completed in a timely manner
  • Ensure that any material shortage is reported to management
  • Preparing primary and secondary insert kits to bill of materials and schedules
  • To be responsible for Goods In and Goods Out packages
  • Responsible for ensuring equipment is well checked and maintained on a daily basis
  • Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment

Due to the nature of work, we do at Codem, with clients such as the F1 motorsports and military applications, we can have seasonal busy periods (Dec – April) where shift work and additional overtime may be required. Therefore, we are looking for individuals who can work flexibly to ensure that we can hit our customers' deadlines.

Required qualifications:

You will need a minimum of four GCSE's (or equivalent) including English, Maths and Science with a minimum grade of C/5 in Maths and English
