What to Expect
We are recruiting for an Buyer to join our fantastic Motorsport and McLaren Special Operations team in Woking. As the Buyer you will be working as part of a high performing and agile team, with direct report into the Purchasing Manager. Cross functional engagement with our Engineering, Quality, Production and Legal Teams is vital for successful delivery and performance.
Please note this is a 6 month fixed term contract.
What You'll Do
- Life-cycle responsibility delivering high quality, value for money components into McLaren.
- Accountability for cost and budget management for multi-million pound direct-spend portfolios.
- New supplier identification and introduction into McLaren.
- Delivering commodity strategy and nomination approvals in line with business requirements aligned with the organisation’s key stakeholders.
- Negotiating, executing and monitoring contractual agreements with suppliers.
- Delivering challenging annual cost down targets
- Managed supplier performance on cost, quality and on time delivery.
What You'll Bring
- Degree preferred but not essential.
- Previous experience working within the motorsport industry
- A strong, clear and confident communicator.
- Keen attention to accuracy and detail.
- Previous direct purchasing experience
- Enthusiastic and self-motivated to work autonomously.
