Hendrick Motorsports, a leading NASCAR Motorsports operation, is seeking an experienced, creative, and highly motivated Director of Creative Services to oversee all creative services operations.
The Director of Creative Services at Hendrick Motorsports is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing the creative services teams, including video and photo production, graphic design, social media, editorial content, and data analysis. Candidates must have a strong background and portfolio in creative fields, such as graphic design, copywriting or media production. Relevant experience in managing creative teams and projects, preferably in a sports, agency or corporate environment, is required. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, collaboration and leadership skills, as well as the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines. The Director of Creative Services collaborates with various stakeholders to deliver impactful creative solutions and maintains the highest standards of brand integrity with expert understanding of the creative industry, trends and best practices. A bachelor's degree in a related field, such as marketing digital media, film or graphic design, is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Management:
- Lead day-to-day management of the creative services teams, ensuring all deliverables are completed on time and to the highest quality.
- Establish clear and measurable objectives for the creative services program and each team member.
- Oversee payroll, PTO requests, expense reports and other administrative tasks for the creative services group.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with executives, directors and managers to align creative services with internal and external stakeholder expectations.
- Foster interdepartmental communication and collaboration among all groups to ensure seamless project execution.
- Maintain working relationships with Hendrick Automotive Group and Hendrick Performance creative teams for effective cross-company collaborations.
Project Oversight:
- Oversee all phases of creative projects, including planning, client conversations, development, production, and delegation.
- Develop and manage project budgets/estimates and ensure proper handling of internal and external billing.
- Manage special projects as assigned by the managing director.
Social Media and Content Strategy:
- Oversee social media content creation, posting strategies and trends.
- Establish and implement a content calendar for tracking, reporting and visibility into creative services workload and output.
Creative Standards and Trends:
- Uphold Hendrick Motorsports established brand standards.
- Stay updated on industry trends in production, graphic design, social media and data analysis.
- Identify and implement hardware and software tools to support team success.
Client and Partner Engagement:
- Proactively work with account services, communication and business development teams to create content that meets partnership needs.
Travel and Event Coordination:
- Establish group travel schedules and ensure appropriate staffing for races/events.
- Coordinate travel logistics for the creative services group in collaboration with marketing operations.
Recognition and Professional Development:
- Ensure appropriate recognition of staff successes and accomplishments.
- Set clear expectations for professionalism and behavior, addressing personnel matters as needed.
- Work with human resources to complete annual personnel reviews and recruit new talent.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in managing creative services teams, including photography, videography, graphic design, social media, editorial content and data analysis.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Proficiency in project management and budget oversight.
- In-depth knowledge of current trends in creative industries and social media.
- Experience in data analysis and partner reporting on exposure and engagement value.
- Expert in Adobe Creative Suite software with a strong emphasis on Illustrator, Photoshop, and Premiere.
- A working understanding of the NASCAR industry is preferred.
- Ability to travel as needed for business purposes, including race weekends.
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, digital media, film, graphic design or a related field is preferred.
