The Composites Engineering Technician will support Team Penske's composites department with CNC-cut laminating kits using CAD software. A successful applicant for this position will have an Associate of Applied Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Manufacturing Engineering Technology.
Job Duties:
- Plan, schedule, and prepare composite prepreg kits used in manufacturing composite race car parts based on a weekly production schedule.
- Program and operate a CNC cutting table using 2D and 3D CAD software to generate flat pattern arrangements in proper ply orientation.
- Track, maintain and control composite materials inventory using business ERP system software.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on cutting table as needed.
- Manage incoming material deliveries and storage.
- Wear proper PPE as directed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills/Qualifications:
- A.A.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Manufacturing Engineering Technology.
- Additional training in computer-aided design and solid modeling is preferred.
- Basic computer skills and experience with spreadsheets, word processors, and e-mail programs.
- Experience with Microsoft applications such as Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft D365 preferred.
- Prior knowledge of composite materials, resins, weave orientations, and fiber types preferred.
- High attention to detail.
- Able to work flexible hours and overtime when needed.
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
- Employee must be dependable and professional, act with integrity, work effectively with others, and take initiative.
