PURPOSE: The Performance Engineer (PE) assists the Race Engineer (RE) in optimization of car and driver performance. This is done using a variety of data sources through detailed analysis, applying engineering fundamentals, and logical reasoning. The PE has primary responsibility for fuel calculations during the race and assists the team with race strategy. The PE will also perform a variety of R&D projects that fit with his/her skillset and background. The PE travels to all races and tests that his/her assigned car attends and may also travel to other testing as n
