What to Expect
The role is a Senior Engineer within Advanced Engineering, specifically in the Virtual Engineering sub-team. The sub-team has a focus on the use and development of virtual engineering methods for proof of concept/prototype work within Advanced Engineering, as well as supporting the activities of teams elsewhere in product development. A key component of this work revolves around 1D simulation and driver-in-loop simulators, both dynamic and static.

What to Expect
As a Switches Project Engineer you will be responsible for the development and delivery of state-of-the-art switches for current and future McLaren road cars.
As part of the Cockpit Electronics team you will be responsible for the specification, development, test, and delivery of all interior switches. This includes developing system requirements, supplier management, test case and procedure creation, manual test execution, as well as supporting Cockpit Electronics Principal Engineer in proof-of-concept development and business reviews.
What to Expect
The key elements of the role are to ensure that the development vehicle activities are supported from an engineering perspective, through harness manufacture, data acquisition, fault diagnoses and platform software updates to allow a smooth transition into a successful running platform. This will involve the assembly and testing of prototype components, along with identification and reporting of electrical/electronic faults and working with engineers to resolve problems.
